PART III
5th of April 2006: In the middle the dark part III is visible. We're waiting for higher temperatures!
5th of September 2005: The last part of the reconstruction has started. On the map below you can see "the work in progress" area.
October 2005: At the moment the grass is growing and we expect that this last part of the reconstruction is operational in summer 2005.

PART II
7th of June 2004: The second part of the reconstruction has started. We hope that we can use our new runway 22-04 and our cross runway 31-13 in August 2005.
Below you can find two pictures of the airport in January 2005. As you can see, it�s getting greener and greener. Just right (east) runway 22 is our new lava-runway! As you can see, the �short� runway 31-13 is almost ready as well.
On the latest pictures of the 24th of April 2005 you can see that our new runways are almost ready. Our actual runway 22-04 will be in the near future the taxi track.

PART I
After a long preparation we started a complete reconstruction of our runways on the 1st of March 2003. The work will end in 2005 because of the fact that we are doing the job in three different parts. Runway 04-22 will remain open and the runway length will be at least 1000 meters. We just have to shift the runway from the eastern part to the western part somewhere in 2004. New draining technologies will be used to make sure the runway will be in top condition almost under all circumstances.
Special taxi procedures will be used by a single taxi track opposite the tower and along the runway 04-22. Runway 13-31 is not available during the whole period. Just check NOTAMS and a special VFG Supplement. Click here for the revised airport lay-out.
We have chosen for an all grass runway, because this type of runway suits Texel most.
